Building on the success of the 2010 Merck Research Laboratories (MRL) Inaugural Asthma Research Seminar, we are pleased to present the Second Annual MRL Respiratory Symposium to be held in November at the MRL Boston site.

This year’s full day event will have an expanded focus, incorporating the biology of several respiratory diseases including asthma, COPD and pulmonary fibrosis, along with innovative, emergent technologies.

The symposium will provide a forum for Boston area researchers to convene and share cutting-edge science, presented by emerging thought leaders from several of our local premiere research institutions.

The faculty of speakers represents:

  • Harvard Medical School
  • Massachusetts General Hospital
  • Brigham and Women’s Hospital
  • Children’s Hospital Boston
  • University of Massachusetts Medical School
  • Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering

Topics to be covered include the genetics of respiratory diseases, novel pathways and targets, imaging technologies to identify disease biomarkers, the development of biomimetic microsystems as translational pre-clinical models, and lessons learned from anti-IgE therapy.

Drawing on the strength of the local research community, this Symposium will bring together academic and pharmaceutical scientists and clinicians, offering a unique learning and networking experience for Boston area researchers.

Register today, we look forward to your participation.
